ABSTRACT
A portable device comprised of
a laser diode driver, objective feedback, optics header and method of selective
painless hair removal. We suggest the portable (handle) laser hair removal
device with selective painless action under thermal control of treated area.
Laser Hair removal is well
known procedure. Due to heating or “cooking” of hair follicles it is
possible to reduce the growth of hair or to stop it for several weeks or months
depend on individuality of patient and applied methods. Laser medical centers,
hospitals and laser cosmetology centers are supplying the procedure. Only a few
private MD’s suggest the procedure. The market price of the devices is in the
range of $ 40,000-100,000. The current price of single session within range
$100- $1400 (attachment A).
TROUBLES
1)
The
devices can be used only under MD control
2)
The
device and application method depend on skin type of patient and there is not
any clear objective parameter to control the procedure.
3)
Non
– selective action, the header of device has a size much more that the size of
follicles. Therefore, the heated area more that ten more that the treatment
area.

Pain
during the procedure

Safety
problems and high risk of additional thermal damages or skin lesion

ADVANTAGES

hair removal device with selective non painful action under objective control.
The application of device doesn’t need a medical doctor. We are understanding
that selective action means heating only the follicles.
Because,
the selective type of the action is applied it is possible to avoid:

a
high level of power output and high cost of components
2)
a
high risk of thermal damage or/and skin lesion
3)
a
high risk of pain
Because, the objective control
of treatment it is possible to avoid:

Pain

Any
risk of thermal damage

Dependence
on skin type
Therefore, the market of the
device becomes much wider if the price could be decreased to $ 2,000-4,000,
efficiency becomes at least the same and procedure becomes less painful or non
painful.
PATENT
The combination of selectivity
of treatment together with non painful treatment and portability of device were
never claimed together. The principals of painless laser treatment were never
claimed. I am currently working on patent provision form to claim the selective
painless laser treatment.
BACKGROUND
The prototype of device was
elaborated for quantitative skin pain measurement and pain management. The
